Tour of Normandy 2010 stage 2 · 24/03/10

The second day of the Tour of Normandy was a 200km road stage from Colombelles to Forge les Eaux.

The team performed well on the stage with Tom Southam making it into a group of 7 that led the race for most of the day, eventually being caught with 15km to go, leaving a bunch sprint the only likely outcome as the sprinters teams began to take charge.

The stage was eventually won by Adrien Petit with Dan, Kristian, Darren and Jonathan all safely in the main group of 90 that crossed the finish line together. Tom and Zak each lost 1’29” with Tom paying for his earlier efforts and Zak also getting tailed off having been very active earlier in the stage trying to bridge across to the main break.

The race continues today with a split stage of 80km in the morning and 72km this afternoon.
