The final day of the Tour of Britain was an exciting conclusion to a week of great racing out on the roads of the UK. Far from being a procession, stage 8 was run off at blistering pace around the Embankment circuit in London. Rapha Condor riders were in the thick of the action and were represented in each of the day’s breakaway attempts. Tom Southam, Kristian House, Darren Lapthorne and Dan Craven were all particularly active, ensuring that fans of the team had plenty to cheer about. With vital time bonuses to play for, the sprinters’ teams never let any move gain too much time and it was little surprise that the finale came down to a bunch sprint, like other stages during the week.
The stage was won by Michele Merlo of Barloworld who managed to pass Rob Hayles in the final metres. Dan Craven crossed the line in 12th as the highest place Rapha Condor rider. Kristian House came home safely in the bunch to protect his 10th place finish on the general classification.
The Team would like to thank everyone who has followed us, both out on the road and online, during this year’s race. The team’s season continues with riders taking part in this winter’s Revolution series in Manchester, and riders will shortly fly out to Australia for the forthcoming Sun Tour.
