Team looking Sharp in first 2010 UK outing · 01/03/10
Dan Craven started the 2010 road season in fine style on Sunday taking victory in the 43rd Clayton Velo Spring Classic, a 90km handicap event near Clithero in Lancashire.

Having caught all the groups in front of them with five laps to go the attacks began, and with four and a half laps to go the move that stuck was a two man break with Dan Craven from Rapha Condor Sharp and Peter Williams of Motorpoint. With both of the strongest teams in the race represented a gap was established and rarely looked like being closed.
Talking afterwards Dan spoke of how he grew in confidence as the race wore on. The two attempts made by his breakaway companion to distance him actually helped to shake off the lethargy he’d initially felt in the earlier part of the race. At the finish Dan made light work of the sprint, leaving Chris Newton to mop up the last of the podium places and Dean Downing showing he’s lost none of his speed as he finished in 6th to round off a strong team performance.
