Kristian House rode a perfect race against a field including top ProTour riders to claim the British National Road Race Champion title on Sunday 28th June over a tough course at Abergavenny in Wales. All of the team rode well and we had represesntation in all of the moves throughout the day. Kristian was initially riding to help Chris Newton and Tom Southam and was slipping into some of the early moves to mark them, ready for teammates to move up in the later stages. As the race progressed and it was clear that Kristian was on top form, the roles were reversed and the boys started riding for him instead.
Coming into the final sprint Kristian held his nerve and let the big guys attack first, making his move in the final meters to cross the line with his arms aloft. It was a slightly downhill finish and hard to judge for Peter Kennaugh who went too early. Kristian jumped on his wheel and came round him on the line for victory. A well deserved win for all of the hard work Kristian has put in over the years.
