Edinburgh Nocturne report · 01/06/09

Saturday evening saw the first round of the Nocturne Series in Edinburgh. It was an action packed day with the final event being the elite criterium starring guest riders David Millar and Cameron Meyer just back from the Giro d’Italia.

The pace was fast and furious from the start with some of the big home names suffering under the intense pressure from the Garmin riders. The Rapha Condor team were very active, with good form after returning form the Ras stage race. Tom Southam and Dan Craven were particularly active. Kristian House had the misfortune to crash on the first lap, but was soon back in the race.

When Garmin riders Millar and Meyer were off the front and heading for victory, Kristian made his move from the bunch and caught Meyer, winning the sprint for 2nd place. Tom was 7th, Ben 11th, Darren 12th and Dan 13th.
