Darren Lapthorne wins Roy Thame Cup · 14/03/10
The Rapha Condor Sharp team continued its superb start to the year with two victories on consecutive days at the weekend.
Darren Lapthorne was the first of the team to strike gold on Saturday 13th March as he took victory at the Roy Thame Cup in Buckinghashire, promoted by Hemel Hempstead CC. With the team having taken control in the early laps of a mainly flat race the boys in black were well represented in the final of the race with Darren, Tom Southam and Dan Craven all present at the front of the race.
As the riders entered the last 2km of the race it was Darren who attacked first and held his lead all the way to the finish, winning by a couple of seconds over of the chasers.
