Gent Six Day Club weekend 26-28 Nov · 21/10/10
Members are invited to join us for a 3-day, 2 night weekend in Gent to watch the pinnacle of track racing, the Gent Six Day. We have limited availability of seats in the Team van which will be departing from Folkestone at 11.30am on Friday the 26th of November.
Dean Downing will be joining us for the trip and will provide a wealth of experience and knowledge of the velodrome, having previously ridden the Gent Six on several occasions before turning to road racing. He’ll also be leading our Saturday ride over the cobbles of Flanders.
Members are invited to pass this offer on to their partners. Partners can book places at the same rate as members.
Option 1 – £550
- Travel from Folkestone, UK to Gent and back in the Team van with your bike
- 2 night’s accommodation in Oudenaarde near Gent
- 3 days of access to the track to watch the racing (Fri+Sat night plus VIP access on Sunday daytime)
- Guided ride in and around Gent (including some of the Tour of Flanders roads)
- Visit to the Tour of Flanders museum
- Drinks and meals not included, though we’ll be visiting some good restaurants on the Friday and Saturday evenings.
Option 2 – £500
- Same as Option 1, but excludes travel, so you’ll need to arrange your own travel to and from Gent.
Schedule:
Friday 26th November
0930 – meet at Rapha for coffee and packing bikes
1000 – drive to Folkstone from London in the Team van
1130 – enter Eurotunnel to France
1430 – arrive in Oudenaarde
1530 – visit the Ronde van Vlaanderen museum
1700 – dinner in Oudenaarde
1830 – drive to Gent for track racing
2300 – drive back to Oudenaarde
Saturday 27th November
0800 – breakfast at hotel
1000 – meet at Andy Verall’s place in Oudenaarde
1030 – go riding on Tour of Flanders route with Andyl in the Team support vehicle
1400 – arrive back in Oudenaarde for lunch and sight-seeing
1900 – drive to Gent for dinner and track racing
2300 – drive back to Oudenaarde
Sunday 28th November
0800 – breakfast at hotel
1100 – check out of hotel and drive to Gent for final day of track racing
1700 – depart track to drive back to Eurotunnel
2000 – arrive in Folkestone
2100 – arrive in London
