Team Training Camp 2010 - Malaga pt.3
by Paul Rowlands | 04/02/10

The thing about training camps is, nothing very different happens from day to day. You’ve seen the bikes, seen the kit, seen the riders. The riders have ridden the bikes and worn the kit, the mechanics have cleaned the bikes and I, in turn, have written, photographed and filmed it for your consumption.

Now what?

The riders can repeat this process until that magical thing called ‘form’ appears and they’re ready to race. The mechanics, much like Sisyphus, are condemned to wash and repair bikes on a daily basis only to find them dirty once more the following day.

But beneath the skin of the team there’s still plenty to be finding out about. There are new riders to get to know for one thing, so over the next few days, rather than talk to you about the number of hours ridden, mountains climbed and so on (Kristian might still be posting those stats on the forum if you’re a member, and if you’re not, it’s another reason to join the Rapha Condor Club), I’ll be getting to know a few of the riders on the team a little better, and sharing the results with you.

Meanwhile, today involved six hours riding for each of our two groups on the road and tomorrow is the same. Friday is cafe day though and from what I’ve seen of the effort put in by all the riders so far, it’ll be a well deserved break.
