Team Training Camp 2010 - Malaga
by Paul Rowlands | 02/02/10

Today was the first full day at the Rapha Condor Sharp 2010 training camp at Sol Andalusi in Malaga. As is normal at a camp like this the first day was one of preparation as the riders arrived over the course of the day and trips to the airport and supermarket took precedence over getting the miles in on the bikes.

The riders arrived in two groups with our South West based contingent (Tom, Dean W, Zak, Lappers and Jonathan T-L) flying in from Bristol early in the day whilst the remainder (Deano, Ben, Matt, Dan, Chris, Graham) flew in from Manchester just before dinner.

On arrival all the riders were issued with the remainder of their 2010 kit including Giro helmets and eyewear as well as an array of Pro gloves, overshoes and other items that will no doubt prove invaluable over the next couple of weeks as the weather is forecast to be somewhat changeable here in Malaga.

One rider who has had the chance to get in a few more hours than his team mates is Kristian House. Kristian arrived yesterday and wasted no time in getting in 3 hours on the bike on Sunday followed by another 5 hour stint in the saddle today. The current British National Champion is clearly keen to get his season off to a good start, or perhaps it’s the opportunity to try out the latest Dura Ace Di2 groupset that’s keeping him out there so long. Either way, the feedback on every aspect of the new Condor Leggero bikes is positive from all the riders. It’s a good job the team are happy as they are being photographed this week by Gerard Brown on behalf of the team at Condor, don’t forget to smile chaps…

So with all 12 riders now here, tomorrow (Tuesday) is the first time we’ll see all of them out on the road together. We’ll be out there with the cameras and the video to capture some of that first ride ride and will do our best to have a few shots up in the next day or so.

Goodbye for now from Malaga!…
